I remember first seeing this collection of poems advertised in Christopher Street Magazine back when I was a teenage boy in Ohio. It’s cover captivated me. I mail ordered it, praying that when it came, I would get to the mailbox to retrieve it before my mother did. My mom respectfully handed me the brown paper mailing package unopened. She inquired of its contents, but didn’t pry. Mom’s know.
At that age, I would read things, then throw them away for fear of getting ‘caught.’ After all these years, it was my good fortune to find a replacement copy of the original first edition here.
